Lamourette Venezuela Carenero Superior 75% cacao
This bar is a noticeable step up from the other bar from the family that's been tasted (Lamourette Chocolate Noir 75% cacao). A pop of citrus flavors on first taste, followed by other notes, some woody, some anise. There is some bitterness, nothing too prominent, but it lasts into a lengthy aftertaste. 8.8

From the label:
"For centuries, the Caranero bean has been known for its complex, intricate flavor. In fact, due to this quality, it most often serves as a supplement to a vintage of other beans; it is often added to deepen and smooth the flavor of chocolate. We would like to bring you a bar that is made purely from Carenero — after tasting it once, you will never forget your journey to the place east of Caracas."
Just tried this bar again. I think I was a little over generous on the rating. Maybe I was in a good mood. I would give it a 8.2 today. The bitterness that I mention in my review is very prominent, dominating the after-consumption experience. It is still a good tasting chocolate, though.
One other niggle: the bar is divided into ten pretty large pieces. I wanted to eat a smaller portion as I was tasting it this time and tried to break a piece in half, but it was so thick that I could not do it without really mashing the bar.
